Thoma Bravo to Acquire Lexmark Enterprise Software

In a press release last week, Lexmark Enterprise Software President Reynolds C. Bish announced the pending sale of Lexmark's Enterprise Software division to Thoma Bravo, a leading private equity firm that specializes in the software and technology-enabled service sectors.  The sale includes all three subcompanies within Lexmark's Enterprise Software division: Kofax, ReadSoft, and Perceptive Software, the latter of which will be sold to Hyland, another Thoma Bravo portfolio company upon closing of the sale.

OpenText to Acquire Guidance Software

Last week PaperFree partner OpenText announced definitive plans to acquire Guidance Software, a Pasadena-based developer of forensic security solutions.  The acquisition adds to OpenText's product offerings, specifically its Discovery line that that offers search, extraction, classification, review, and analysis tools for enterprises.  This also adds additional information security options to OpenText with new digital investigation, forensic security, and endpoint solutions.

OpenText Completes Acquisition of Dell EMC’s Enterprise Content Division (ECD), including Documentum

OpenText has announced the completion of its acquisition of Dell EMC's Enterprise Content Division, effective January 23, 2017.  This acquisition, which also includes the popular Documentum suite as well as other core ECM products, carried a price tag of $1.62 billion and was funded by a combination of cash on hand, stocks, senior notes, and credit.  Through this process, which has taken nearly a year, OpenText has made strides to ensure that ECD partners and their clients would experience as seamless of a transition as possible.

OpenText Signs Definitive Agreement to Acquire Dell EMC’s Enterprise Content Division, including Documentum

On September 12, 2016 OpenText announced that it had signed a definitive agreement to acquire the ECD arm of Dell EMC, an acquisition that includes product lines such as InfoArchive, LEAP, and most notably the comprehensive and powerful Documentum line.  OpenText is an Ontario, Canada-based leader in Enterprise Information Management (EIM).  This acquisition will strengthen OpenText's product offerings as well as allow it to serve a broader complement of industries who depend on enterprise content management solutions to power their businesses.

Today Dell/EMC announced that they have worked out the final details of moving EMC’s Enterprise Content Division (ECD) over to OpenText, a merger that has tallied $1.6 Billion. As one of EMC’s largest Certified Partners for the Enterprise Content Division (ECD), PaperFree is pleased with the decision today to align that division with OpenText moving forward. China Grants Clearance for Dell-EMC Merger

Dell Inc. Tuesday said it received regulatory clearance from China and intends to complete its merger with EMC Corp. on Sept. 7.
